Mark McKinney is one of Canada’s most dynamic comedic talents. He writes. He produces. He performs. He does it all. And whatever he does, he keeps audiences around the world laughing.
Mark is the Producer, Senior Story Editor and driving force behind Less Than Kind, nominated for nine 2009 Gemini Awards, including Best Comedy Program or Series and Best Writing in a Comedy or Variety Program Series. Mark is also back in a big way with Kids in the Hall. Canada’s legendary comedy troupe is back with the new eight-part TV series Death Comes to Town.
Other big news with Mark came the night before the 2009 EDC Gala, receiving the Sir Peter Ustinov Award at the Banff World Television Festival. Mark was recognized for his contributions to film and television, both here in Canada and around the world. He joins a list of legends, including John Cleese, Bob Newhart, Martin Short, Barry Humphries (a.k.a. Dame Edna) and Rick Mercer as a recipient of this prestigious award.
Mark’s filmography includes A Night at the Roxbury, The Out-of-Towners, The Ladies Man, Dog Park, The Last Days of Disco, Superstar, The Saddest Music in the World, Snow Cake and New Waterford Girl.
On TV, Mark co-starred in Hatching, Matching and Dispatching, Slings and Arrows, Twitch City and Robson Arms. He has also appeared in episodes of Corner Gas, Puppets Who Kill and the Rick Mercer Report.
Mark has written for numerous films and television projects and has performed his one man stage show Fully Committed. He also collaborated with Aaron Sorkin in the critically acclaimed Sportsnight and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Shaun, a member of the famous sketch group The Bob Room, is known for his clever, unique style of comedy. It earned him a one-hour comedy special on The Comedy Network called On the Edge with Shaun Majumder, nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Comedy Performance, and a second Gemini nomination for his work on the Halifax Comedy Festival. In 2002 he received the Canadian Comedy Award for Pretty Funny Stand Up.
Shaun, a regular on This Hour Has 22 Minutes, has also hosted 15 episodes of the Just for Laughs TV specials, starred in Cedric the Entertainer Presents and a appeared in the documentary The Next Big Thing. He recently had a recurring role on 24 and before that on the sitcoms Hatching, Matching and Dispatching, and the Farrelly Brothers Fox TV series Unhitched.
