“Ms. Logue has certainly earned the distinction of Canada’s first Hometown Hero,” said Jed Goldberg, President of Earth Day Canada. “Her leadership, commitment to the environment and willingness to step forward and participate truly make her an outstanding role model for all Canadians.”

Ms. Logue was honoured for her dedication and achievements at the Earth Day Canada charity Gala Dinner held at the InterContinental Toronto Centre in Toronto, June 15, 2004. To celebrate and recognize Ms. Logue’s accomplishments, Robert Bateman presented her with the Earth Day Hometown Hero award. Mr Bateman is Canada’s pre-eminent natural artist and environmental leader.

She is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Guelph Environmental Leadership, a non-profit organization that supports community environmental improvements, and the Project Manager and Designer for the Guelph Enabling Gardens, a community garden project that teaches therapeutic gardening and environmental stewardship.

She has worked extensively in the area of wildlife and habitat restoration and preservation over the past 10 years through volunteering and committee work.
