In 2000, Jason Blanch founded the Nappan Project Association (NPA). This organization employs students to teach environmental education and actively promotes Agro Tourism as a sustainable livelihood option to revitalize rural communities and protect the natural environment.

Jason Blanch approaches the environment on a global scale. In 2000, Jason Blanch founded the Nappan Project Association (NPA). This organization employs students to teach environmental education and actively promotes Agro Tourism as a sustainable livelihood option to revitalize rural communities and protect the natural environment. The Nappan Project is a partnership with Development in Nigeria, and shares their expertise, resources and information through exchange visits and workshops.

Jason has been instrumental in developing environmental education programs for schools and is currently in discussion with the Town of Amherst to restore Dickey Brook. Jason was the founding Chair of the Atlantic Canada Chapter of the Sierra Club of Canada and of Cumberland County Environmental Action, a citizens group focusing on local environmental issues.

He voluntarily writes a weekly environmental column in The Citizen, Cumberland's community paper. A colleague of Jason describes him as, "the type of individual who inspires you to critically reflect on your life and make changes, great and small, that will lead to greater sustainability and equity on our planet."
