Finalist Tim Giese
It's a Fact

Being a highly concerned citizen, Tim has been involved in many local environmental organizations and initiatives, including managing a volunteer driven recycling program for four years, until the Town of Cochrane took it over.

For 15 years Tim Giese has been environmentally active in Cochrane, Alberta, including several years as the President of the Cochrane Environmental Action Committee, a local non-profit organization. Being a highly concerned citizen, Tim managed a volunteer driven recycling program for four years, until the Town of Cochrane took it over.

Mr. Giese is chair of the Cochrane Branches & Banks, a group that organizes a large-scale annual community tree-planting event. He also sits on the Cochrane Environmental Management Advisory Committee, which sets environmental direction for the Town Council.

The Mayor of the Town of Cochrane describes Tim as "committed to preservation, protection, enhancement and sustainability of the environment locally, regionally, provincially and nationally. He works to ensure that environmental issues are addressed on a daily basis in our community. He is Cochrane’s Mr. Environment!"
