Wayne Salewski is the chair of the Nechako Valley Land and Water Stewardship Society that promotes water stewardship practices. Wayne spearheaded the restoration of more than seven acres of wetland in the Nechako Valley region.

The Mel Johnson School Gardening Project provides students with a gardening bed to grow organic food and aid the community in becoming self sufficient. Each student is taught the necessary skills to plant and maintain a garden, from planting to harvest and preservation.

Sackville Rivers Association
Lower Sackville, NS

The Sackville Rivers Association (SRA) is responsible for reviving and preserving the vitality of the 147 square kilometres Sackville River watershed in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. The SRA has organized 300 river clean ups, restored 50,000 square metres of Atlantic Salmon habitat and stabilized 200 feet of river bank.
