Earth Day Canada Community Environment Fund in partnership with

The Earth Day Canada Community Environment Fund in partnership with Sobeys Ontario, provides not-for-profit organizations and schools with an opportunity to create and inspire environmental action in their community. The Program recognizes and celebrates the tremendous impact of grassroots projects, providing up to $20 000 in financial support for local environmental initiatives.

Applicants must be affiliated with a not-for-profit organization or school in Ontario. To be eligible for a grant, a project must:

Be open to the public
Have a strong volunteer-involvement component
Engage the local community
Be located on publicly accessible property
Have a plan to be sustainable beyond the life of the grant
Demonstrate quantified benefits and achievements to the environment
Have signed approval of the school's principal if it is a school application
Be completed within one year of receipt of the grant.
