What is the submission deadline?
The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2010. Submissions received prior to February 15, 2010 will be entered into a raffle to win a Panasonic 60GB HDD/SD Camcorder.

Finalists will also have their videos screened in Ivanhoe Cambridge Shopping Malls across Canada, on the Onestop Network of 270 monitors on the subway platforms of the Toronto Transit Commission, as well as hosted on Earth Day Canada’s website and YouTube channel.
What are the eligibility and technical criteria?
Films must be
Filmmaker’s name, optional secondary name, the title of the film and its category will appear beside the film at all times, so it’s unnecessary to include them in your 90 second film/video.
Note: 1 submission per filmmaker.
Does my hero have to be someone I know?
As films can be animation based, the film maker does not actually have to know the every day hero. Film makers can submit films depicting the environmental commitment of their friends and family, or can take their creativity one step further to depict an every day hero they aspire to know.
What type of genres/films do you accept?
The Every Day Heroes Film Competition will accept traditional motion picture, animation, stop-motion, claymation, etc. You choose how you want to present your every day hero.

Can my film use any music/audio components?
No, all submissions are to be silent films.
What is the judging process?
All hardcopy submissions (postmarked by March 15, 2010) and online submissions will be screened by EDC to ensure they meet competition eligibility and technical criteria. Eligible submissions will be shortlisted by EDC and Art for Commuters.
Shortlisted submissions will then be sent to members of the Every Day Heroes Film Competition Judging Panel. The panel consists of representatives from Art for Commuters, Earth Day Canada and guest judges with an association to the film industry.
How do select the winner of the ‘People’s Choice Award’?
The winner of the ‘People’s Choice Award’ will be selected by the Canadian public. Following the submission deadline, eligible submissions will be uploaded online at www.earthday.ca/film and the public voting will begin.
