Earth Day Canada — Every Day Heroes Film Competition
All filmmakers, young and old, established and aspiring, are invited to submit 90-second silent videos to the Every Day Heroes Film Competition.
Canadians are doing amazing things to reduce their impact on the environment in large and small ways. Inspire Canada this Earth Day. Tell the story of your every day environmental hero and their dedication to support of a healthier environment.
The Every Day Heroes Film Competition will accept traditional motion picture, animation, stop-motion, claymation,
etc. You choose how you want to present your every day hero.
The deadline for submissions is March 15, 2010. Submissions received prior to February 15, 2010 will be entered into the raffle to win a Panasonic 60GB HDD/SD Camcorder.
Prizes will be awarded in four categories:
- Best of ‘Under 18’ years of age—13 inch MacBook Pro
- Best of ‘Over 18’ years of age—13 inch MacBook Pro
- Best of Competition—Two economy airline tickets to any destination in North America with two nights hotel accommodation AND two tickets to the Earth Day Canada Gala, including travel to Toronto and hotel accommodation for the nights of June 8th and 9th, 2010
- The People’s Choice Award—Bose SoundDock Portable Digital Music System.
Finalists will also have their videos screened in Ivanhoe Cambridge Shopping Malls across Canada, on the Onestop Network of 270 monitors on the subway platforms of the Toronto Transit Commission, as well as hosted on Earth Day Canada’s website and YouTube channel.

Jour de la Terre Canada — Concours cinématographique
Cinéastes de partout au pays, jeunes et moins jeunes, professionnels ou amateurs, vous êtes tous invités à soumettre un film muet d’une durée de 90 secondes au concours cinématographique Nos héros au quotidien.
Enthousiaste, remarquable et inspirant ne sont que quelques mots pour décrire des individus ou groupes qui accomplissent des réalisations environnementales exceptionnelles à petite ou grande échelle. Ils sont des porteurs d’espoir, des héros au quotidien et leur histoire se doit d’être racontée.
Inspirez votre pays pour le Jour de la Terre. Racontez l’histoire de votre héros au quotidien et de sa volonté d’aider l’environnement.
Le Concours cinématographique Nos héros au quotidien acceptera les courts-métrages traditionnels, les films d’animation, les animations image par image, les animations en pâte à modeler, etc. Donnez libre cours à votre imagination et choisissez comment vous désirez présenter votre héros du quotidien...
La date limite pour les candidatures est le 15 mars 2010. Les candidatures reçues avant le 15 février 2010 seront éligibles pour le tirage au sort d’une caméra vidéo Panasonic 60GB HDD/SD.
Des prix seront attribués dans quatre catégories:
- Meilleur film dans la catégorie 18 ans et moins—MacBook Pro 13 pouces
- Meilleur film dans la catégorie 18 ans et plus—MacBook Pro 13 pouces
- Grand gagnant du concours—Deux billets d’avion en classe économique pour la destination de votre choix partout en Amérique du Nord ainsi que deux nuitées à l‘hôtel ET deux billets pour le Gala Jour de la Terre Canada, incluant le transport à Toronto et l‘hôtel pour les nuits du 8 et 9 juin 2010
- Choix du public—Système de musique numérique portatif SoundDock de Bose.
Les finalistes auront la chance de voir leur film diffusé sur les écrans des centres commerciaux de la compagnie Ivanhoe Cambridge, partout au pays, ainsi que sur les 270 écrans des stations de métro de la Commission de transport de Toronto et sur les sites Web de Jour de la Terre Canada et de YouTube.
