Application Form Eligibity General When is the deadline to apply for this scholarship? Applications for the 2010 Toyota Earth Day Scholarship must be postmarked February 28, 2010. The application must be mailed no later than this date. How will I know if you received my application? We will notify you through email within three weeks after receiving your application to the email address you provided on your application form. The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program is not responsible for any applications lost in the mail. What are the criteria for the Toyota Earth Day Scholarship? The listed criteria are:
Is there a minimum average I must achieve to qualify for this scholarship? There is no minimum average that you must meet to qualify for the scholarship; however, your application will be competing with students who do achieve excellent academic grades. Can I have an extension on the due date for submitting the application? The deadline for application submission is February 28, 2010. The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program will not grant any extensions. Application Form I need technical help with the application form - what should I do? If you are having difficulty downloading the application or are unable to fill out the application form or have any other difficulty with this version of the Microsoft Word form, please contact scholarship@earthday.ca . Can I provide photocopies of my transcript, rather than the original? This is acceptable as long as your school is able to certify your transcript as a genuine copy with the school stamp and a signature from a school official. Can I email you the completed application form instead of mailing it to you? No, you must mail the completed application package as some elements of the application require that you send in hard copies to us. Candidates are asked to mail in the completed application form with signed declaration sheet, original transcript and interim grade report (if applicable) imprinted with the school seal and two signed letters of references on the appropriate letterhead. Eligibility I am in my first year of university/college; can I apply for this scholarship? The Toyota Earth Day Scholarship offers entrance scholarships for graduating Canadian high school students. If you are already in university or college, unfortunately you are no longer eligible for the scholarship. You are eligible for the scholarship if you are graduating from high school or a Québec junior college and entering your first year of full-time studies in an accredited university or You are graduating from high school and entering your first year at a Québec junior college. Can I still apply if I take time off between high school and post-secondary studies? Students are eligible to apply to the 2010 Toyota Earth Day Scholarship Program if they are graduating in the 2009-2010 school year or if they have graduated within the last 2 years from a Canadian high school or Québec junior college. If you are taking time off to travel/work before entering college/university, you should apply for the scholarship the year you intend to start your first year of studies in post-secondary education. I will be attending College/University outside of Canada, am I still eligible for the scholarship? No, the scholarship is only available to students who enroll in a Canadian college or university. Can I still apply if I have family involved with Earth Day, or its sponsors? If you or any of your immediate family members are employed by Earth Day Canada, Panasonic Canada, or Toyota Canada Inc., or its dealers, you are restricted from applying for this scholarship. We define 'immediate family' as your mother, father, brothers and sisters. All other members of your family are excluded from our definition. |
